Chad White has been seen in the June 2006 issue of L'Uomo Vogue where he owned the entire editorial well. His work for L'Uomo Voque is one of his most important stints as a model, as photographed by world-renowned photographer, Steven Klein.

Saving money is an ongoing challenge for most people. Paychecks, dividends, and an occasional bonus go only so far. Therefore, it's worthwhile to develop some money-saving strategies, such as the 10 listed below.

1. Track spending and evaluate results. By tracking your spending habits, you'll get an idea of where you spend your money. By evaluating the results, you can see if you're using money for things that aren't really necessary. For example, do your monthly membership fees go to a gym you never have time to visit? Do you buy coffee every morning when it's available in your office for free? Look at all the places where you can save money; even small outlays can add up.

2. Pay yourself first. This idea is certainly not new, but it's a strategy that starts a consistent savings program. Unless your entire paycheck is earmarked for monthly bills and necessities, you should be able to put money into savings every month. If you get a raise, add that money to what you're putting aside.

3. Company savings plans. Many companies offer 401(k) plans. Take advantage of them. If one isn't available, open an IRA. Use direct deposit for these retirement savings accounts so you're not tempted to spend the money elsewhere.

4. Forget the plastic. Limit yourself to one or two credit cards with the best rates, and use them for only major purchases or emergencies. Also, pay off your credit card balances monthly.

5. Learn how to shop. The Internet provides a very easy way to compare prices. Look for lower prices, discounts, sales, and coupons. Check out price comparison Web sites, such as AllBusiness.com, Shopping.com, and BizRate.com. Avoid paying surcharges, late fees, and other fees for convenience. Shop from lists rather than browsing the aisles, and establish a firm "no impulse buy" policy.

6. Look to save on your home. Look for lower mortgage rates and refinance. Also, while paying off your home mortgage each month, round up. You can pay off the loan a little faster, and save a surprisingly high amount of the interest over time.

7. Save on utilities. Review the offers from competing phone and electric companies. Look for energy-saving appliances, and save some money by opening windows when it's warm, and using a second blanket when it's cold.

8. Be car smart. Find a mechanic you can trust before paying big bucks for unnecessary repairs. Don't buy a second or third car that will hardly be used or will sit at the train station. Look for lower gas prices in your neighborhood, and keep your engine tuned, trunk uncluttered, and tires properly inflated to save on gas.

9. Get everyone onboard. Discuss ways of saving money and establishing good spending habits with everyone in your household.

10. Read the fine print. Review your bills carefully, including your credit card statements. Errors in billing cost customers millions of dollars each year. Also, in this new age of warranties included with every major purchase, read the fine print carefully, and buy only what will be valuable for those products most likely to need service.

Tip #1: Change jar.
Collect all of the change around your house and save ALL of your change from all of your cash purchases that you make. At the end of the month (or when the jar is full), take all of your change to a coin star or roll it yourself. I personally do this, and find myself making an extra $200-$300 dollars every 3-6 months.

Tip #2: Start a small business.
Yes, it can take a lot of work, but be very worthwhile in the end. Search the web for ideas for a small business, or take one of your passions and turn it into some kind of moneymaking opportunity.

Tip #3: Upgrade your savings account.
What would the difference between 1% to 2% annual interest mean to you? For some, it can mean a lot of money. For others, it can mean some extra change to buy stuff. No matter the case, an upgraded savings account is worthwhile. Many banking institutions now offer an upgrade to your account if you decide to create an internet savings account.

Hate to say it, but she brought it tonight. At first, I didn't like the song choice, but later I realized that it was a good move on her part. She sang it O.K., but it was heartwarming and good, a memorable performance.

Honorable mention: Carly Smithson. Although the judges weren't into it, I personally thought it was pitchy at some points, but in the end she pulled through.

Going home: Ramielle and Chikezie better watch themselves. They really need to start doing memorable performances. Both Davids are safe.

The clear-cut winner of tonight's show was David Archuleta! His performance of "The Long and Winding Road" was, as Simon said, "masterclass."

CARLY SMITHSON

Carly gave a strong performance in my eyes, even if Simon didn't really feel it was her best. I personally like the song "Black Bird" and felt her description of what she was going through was interesting (minus the sympathetic undertone).

DAVID COOK

Dave Cook was spot-on again this week, despite his always-a-rocker appearance. I had never heard the song before and found it to be quite good. The use of the voice box was a nice touch.

Going home: Once again I have to say, Kristy Lee Cook is again in danger! I can't think of anyone who deserves to go home more. Unfortunately, Michael Johns is a distant second, with his mess of a performance tonight. Results tomorrow!

THE BACHELOR//FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Well, the season premiere of the bachelor is over and here are some thoughts.

Matt's a really nice, down to earth, genuine guy. Good job, nice car, height, English. I think this season will be interesting to say the least. Most of the women have something in common with Matt, since he's easy to talk to. He was making his rounds but some of the women got more camera time than others.

I was shocked to hear that Shayne is actually Lorenzo Lamas' daugther. That was an interesting twist. I wasn't sure I heard it correctly at first (because of her drunken mindset) but yep, it is her. I think she has a good shot with him (since she's hot), or maybe being the daughter of Lorenzo Lamas lowers her chances?

He really connected with some of the beautiful women, and others, not so much. Stacy was kind of a disaster, no chemistry whatsoever there. There was some chemistry with hottie Amanda, hence the first impression rose. Others that I saw chemistry with; Ashlee, Chelsea, Erin H., Erin S., and Shayne. For the others, I'll have to continue to watch and see how it unfolds between them.

At this point in the show, it's far too hard to even guess who he will choose.

Honorable mention: Dave Cook. He didn't make the top list because of his continual rocker appearance and voice. I'd love to see him show a more diverse range.

Going home: I've got good suspicions that Kristy Lee Cook is headed home tomorrow. Her performance and voice was terrible tonight. Bad song choice (and why remix it?) and bad performance = home. Ramielle may also be in danger.

I have yet to see one of these in person, but I know I'll be amazed when I do. It's one of the thinnest laptops ever created, sizing from 0.16" to 0.75" and weighing only 3 lbs! Lighting it up is a 13" backlit LED widescreen. The MacBook Air has five hours of battery life and comes with a 1.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo chip (upgradeable to 1.8GHz), 2GB of RAM, an 80GB 1.8” hard drive (there's an option to add a 64GB solid-state drive), Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Why we love it? It's a small, lightweight notebook that has a long battery life and some decent power behind it. It comes at a price though..$1,800.
